Collaboration

TW Woods
On the 10th of October Impro Racing visited TW Woods down at Tomago. We were fortunate enough to get a tour of the facilities and an insight into heavy metal welding. We talked to an experienced spray painter and got some tricks and tips to help make our paint job better. As a sign of gratitude and a surprise to us, TW Woods used their state of the art plasma cutter to make our logo. We are very grateful and used this in our State booth display. In the future we hope to see more collaboration with TW Woods.

Cissy Kang
16th of September early morning, Impro Racing set of to Sydney to meet up with Cissy Kang. Cissy is an experienced graphics designer and manages Mount View Estate, which is one of our sponsors. Before hand we sent of our draft Enterprise Portfolio so we could get some fed back. We spent the day working on the Enterprise portfolio graphics. We then talked about sending of our engineering portfolio to Cissys brother for some professional fed back from an engineer such as himself. Our day was spent well and we hope to see more work with Cissy and Mount View Estate.

BAE Systems
On the 18th of October Impro Racing set of to BAE Systems at Newcastle. Firstly we sat down with a few of their engineers and designers to talk about what we have done and what we want to achieve in the future. The fed back was extremely helpful to the team and helped us step forward and improve. After our meeting we had a tour of the facility and a look into the hangers where the jets reside. Lastly we had a Q&A session with our BAE tour guide and a small history lesson. Our day was very interesting and productive, we hope to see more of BAE Systems in the future.

Clayton Barr
On the 11th of October Impro Racing visited Clayton Barr, our local MP. We presented our progress in the F1 in schools challenge to Mr Barr. We brought in our portfolios, cars and posters to show as a visual aid. Mr Barr did not know much about the F1 in schools challenge, we changed that after our meeting. After some discussion Mr Barr decided to sponsor our team after seeing how far we have come and knowing where will go in the future.

Jake Taylor
On the 18th of October Jake Taylor came into school to talk to Impro Racing. Jake Taylor is a civil engineer working for the RMS, helping design safer roads. He competed in the F1 in schools challenge when he was in high school, so he has more experience behind him. Jake helped us work with what we have and what we need, giving us pointers and tips for public speaking. He was visited us two more times after that day. Everytime we both had something new to present and from that has grown and matured. We thank Jake for his help towards the team and hope to continue in the future.
